Project Overview
As part of a new build development at The How in St Ives, DSS Heating and Plumbing was tasked with installing complete heating and plumbing systems across multiple plots. Our work included the fitting of energy-efficient boilers, stylish and functional bathrooms, full pipework systems, and kitchen sinks. In partnership with DSS Renewables, solar panel systems were also installed to improve energy efficiency across the site.
Solar Panel Installation at The How
As part of our work at The How new build development in St Ives, our team at DSS Heating and Plumbing partnered with DSS Renewables to complete the full installation of solar panel systems across multiple plots. Each system was designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce long-term energy costs for future residents.
Due to the size and weight of the solar panel sections, lifting and positioning them onto the roofs presented a significant challenge. Although transported in manageable sections, each one was still very heavy. This required careful coordination, physical teamwork, and strict adherence to safety procedures to successfully raise them onto the rooftops.
Once in place, the panels were securely mounted, wired into the building’s energy system, and fully tested to ensure maximum performance. These solar installations contribute to the development's sustainability goals and future-proof energy efficiency for homeowners.
